One of the driving forces behind the University of Louisville football team’s resurgent defense is Hakeem Smith, a 6-foot-1, 175-pound safety. The red shirt freshman from Jonesboro, Ga., leads the team in solo tackles with 43 and assists with 17 for a total of 60 stops.  The UofL defense held Syracuse to 101 yards rushing, and 155 passing. Smith had 11 solo tackles and two assists in the 28-20 win. (Photo by Menefee Seay.)
