When Charlie Strong tweets, things happen for the University of Louisville:

“I’m excited to have Tyler Gabbert officially join our football program.”

Tyler Gabbert, transferring from Missouri, is the younger brother of Blaine Gabbert, who was the first-round pick of the Jacksonville Jaguars. Tyler was in contention for the starting sport at Missouri during the spring camp but was nosed out by James Franklin.

Gabbert had committed to Nebraska coming out of high school before switching to Missouri. He hooks up again at Louisville with quarterbacks coach Shawn Watson who, while at Nebraska, had recruited him.

He’s a six-footer weighing 190 pounds and was rated the No. 12 prospect in his class by Scout.

As we’ve seen in recent years at U of L, this program can never have too many good quarterbacks.
