Not a good day Friday for Kyle Funkhauser and the University of Louisville baseball team.

Doubtful Funkhauser ever got warmed up, not with temperatures hovering in the low 20’s at Perfect Game Park in Emerson, Georgia. He would be chased from the mound after giving up six runs in the top of the third inning.  For the game, he was tagged with seven runs, seven hits and three walks.

Uncharacteristic for the junior righthander who was picked as a pre-season All American by numerous media sources. On the plus side, Funkhauser did have seven strikeouts. He’s 1-1 after two starts.

Arkansas State won 8-2, and the teams are scheduled to play a doubleheader Saturday, weather permitting.
