This from Passion Hoops (and Paul Sykes) about a member of the French national team:

French point guard sensation Monny Esther Niamke, a.k.a. Young Monny-Rose, has decided to play her collegiate basketball at University of Louisville. Niamke, was one of the most sought after point guards in the 2011 class … The aggressive French speedster has a wonderful strong frame built for high level division 1 collegiate basketball. The Big East just got a lot faster with Niamke around. Try not to blink, you may miss it!

  1. She is 5’4″ and is listed as being from the Ivory Coast on the French All-Star roster. We’ve seen how speedy, diminuative guards like Sugar Rodgers from Georgetown and Special Jennings from Xavier can push an offense. Looks like Louisville will be getting two excellent ones in Niamke and Jude Schimmel.

The only “French” I’ve mastered over the years is French toast, French fries and French’s mustard.

  2. O mon Dieu! C’est fantastique!

P.S. Sorry, it’s been 44 years since my last Francais class.
