If you’re curious about Derek Fathauer’s progress in the U. S. Open golf tournament, you can check the TC Palm site which provided continuing updatesderek.JPG Friday on how the University of Louisville golfer was doing.  If they take the day off Saturday, here’s a link to CBS Sports’ U.S. Open leaderboard.

The only thing missing is any mention of Louisville where he developed and refined his game. That’s irksome, but the information is valuable to Card fans. Fathauer is a native of Jensen Beach in Southeast Florida.

At 8:58 p.m. Friday, they reported:

Fathauer has finished the second round and things look very good for him to make the weekend cut as the last of the afternoon golfers finish their rounds. After a round of 2-over 73, he is 4-over-par for the tournament to sit in a tie for 37th place. He is six strokes off leader Stuart Appleby, who is at 2-under-par through 16 holes.

After today’s round of 18 holes, the top-60 golfers — including ties — make the cut as well as any golfer within 10 strokes of the lead. Golfers at 7-over-par are currently below the cut.

Unless he challenges for the lead, you’ll have a tough time keeping up with Fathauer on the TV coverage.
