Chief executive Jim Ramsey at the University of Louisville is out with a Final Four message, cheering on the UofL basketball team in the Final Four against Kentucky.

Believe it or not, the schools have decent relationships in numerous academic ventures, actually working together in more than 100 partnerships, including a joint effort in nanotechnology, biology and engineering research.

Always the diplomat, Jim Ramsey, fully aware that cooperation goes only so far.

  1. We shouldn’t be doing any engineering research with the University of Kentucky. Unfortunately a lot of the state grants -REQUIRE- UofL to work with UofK. UofL’s engineering school and research division is leaps and bounds ahead of U of K’s, and every single project I’ve had the unfortunate pleasure of working with U of K on, has been painful. They never pull their weight, yet accept half the grant funding. U of L is the PREMIERE Engineering Research program in the state, and should never have to work with those blue necks to the east. -Source- former U of L Research Engineer.
