Great news for University of Louisville fans. Chris Dominguez, the guy who led U of L to the College World Series in 2007 and the Big East Tournament Championship in 2008 is planning on staying home.

It’s all but final because he has until August 15th  to report to the Colorado Rockies, who drafted him, but Coach Dan McDonnell is confident he will return, according to Rivals.

Just today, Dominguez was named a Third Team All-American by Baseball America and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association, reflecting a season in which he batted .365 with 68 runs, 13 doubles, a BIG EAST-leading 21 home runs and 75 RBI, stealing 11 bases while starting all 62 games at third.

Besides being a tremendous hitter, Dominguez is one of the most popular athletes on Belknap Campus. His easygoing manner and infectious  smile goes a long way in instilling confidence in his teammates. A real leader.

Who said Friday the 13th is unlucky?
