Chris Morgan has been selected to serve as a full-time chaplain for Christian athletes at the University of Louisville. He will be honored in a benefit by eight U of L head coaches this upcoming Sunday at 6 p. m. The event, which is being coordinated by the local chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, will be held at the Brown & Williamson Club at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium.

Football coach Steve Kragthorpe will deliver the keynote address. Other coaches participating in the event are: Arthur Albiero, swimming and diving; Mark Crabtree, men’s golf; Rex Ecarma, men’s tennis; Ken Lolla, men’s soccer; Dan McDonnell, baseball; Ron Mann, track & field; and Kelly Meyers Rothberg, women’s golf.

  1. Do you know of any plans to appoint a chaplain for the Jewish and Muslim students? Are there athletes following other faiths who need a chaplain?

  2. Supporters of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes are sponsoring the Christian chaplain. I’m confident that option is also available for other faiths.
