Chris Morgan has been selected to serve as a full-time chaplain for Christian athletes at the University of Louisville. He will be honored in a benefit by eight U of L head coaches this upcoming Sunday at 6 p. m. The event, which is being coordinated by the local chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, will be held at the Brown & Williamson Club at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium.

Football coach Steve Kragthorpe will deliver the keynote address. Other coaches participating in the event are: Arthur Albiero, swimming and diving; Mark Crabtree, men’s golf; Rex Ecarma, men’s tennis; Ken Lolla, men’s soccer; Dan McDonnell, baseball; Ron Mann, track & field; and Kelly Meyers Rothberg, women’s golf.

  1. Supporters of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes are sponsoring the Christian chaplain. I’m confident that option is also available for other faiths.

  2. Do you know of any plans to appoint a chaplain for the Jewish and Muslim students? Are there athletes following other faiths who need a chaplain?
