Small consolation that Deion Branch is the go-to receiver for Tom Brady during New England’s final 57 seconds in Super Bowl XLVI.

Brady is looking hard for No. 84, finally going to his favorite receiver three of his six pass attempts, one out of bounds, one good for a first down and stopping the clock, the third the ball tipped by a defender.

Too few opportunities and much too late.

For the season, the former University of Louisville wide receiver would have 54 receptions for 747 yards and five touchdowns.

A couple more Sunday, maybe …
