The New York Post is reporting that Tuesday could be a decisive day for the Big East, with the presidents and athletic directors meeting in Philadelphia. On the agenda is the issue of conference expansion and whether to extend invitations to potential new members.
The most likely candidates are said to be TCU and Central Florida, but Houston could also be considered to gain inroads into the Texas television market. Some arm twisting will be required on the non-football schools, still dragging their feet to maintain the league at 16 teams.

Speaking of the Big East, our candidate for “Biggest Fan of the Big East,” Steve Springer, needs your help again. St. John’s has had a major surge and has taken the lead. Go vote for Steve and UofL at MyBigEastVolvo.
How badly does a St. John’s student living in New York really need an all-expense paid trip to New York?

So when the BE gets to 16 football members and 3,178 basketball schools what happens?
If that happens, cbcard, the Big East will have become the organization that replaced the NCAA.
I never thought about the “living in New York” thing. You’re right! Somehow I went from up 300 to down 300 overnight. That’s a 600 vote swing by my count!
I think this could finally force the split.
