University of Louisville fans may have to fork over a few bucks to follow their team in the opening rounds of Big East Baseball Championship Tournament in Clearwater, Fla., at least for the first few rounds. The tournament is being televised by Big East TV on a pay basis. The cost is $9.95 per month (you can cancel after the tournament has concluded) or $79.95 for an annual subscription.

The tournament has been telecast free by the Big East in past years but those days are apparently gone. Local radio coverage is apparently non-existent. Good luck finding it on Sirius or XM, one of which is supposed to be carrying the games. Their program listings are not intuitive by any stretch of the imagination.

ESPN-U has a four-hour period blocked out on its Saturday schedule for the Big East finals, which may or not be revised to include a night game if that is required in the double elimination tournament.

  1. I know. It sucks.
I have been trying to find even a local Clearwater channel that is covering it. NOTHING for free. Pay for everything.

We get free admission to Jim Patterson, but the Big East cuts Jurich’s legs out, and charges for the BE Tourney…… JUST TO FREAKING LISTEN???!!!
I understand streaming live vidoe coverage, but for the love of God, we can not even listen?

Between this and the UK fans, I am about ready to pull my hair out.
