Steve Springer, the Biggest Fan of the Big East, ran into one Calvin Bibb, father of former University of Louisville defensive back Don Bibb, while in the Big Apple to get the ceremonial keys to the new Volvo S60 at the Big East championship.  Don lettered for the Cardinals playing under coaches Ron Cooper and John L. Smith.  The proud father was very excited to let Card Game know who his son was and display his son’s Motor City Bowl ring from the 1998 season. The car? Still going through U.S. Customs.

  1. Hey, what are the chances that we would attend the first Lady Cards NCAA tourney game and end up by chance seated next to a couple who were actually in MSG in NYC? They were able to describe what it was like watching you win your car and the donation to UofL! Pretty cool, huh? Also says a lot about UofL fans who will really go the extra mile to support our athletes. Coach Pitino, are you listening? Go Cards.

  2. I was pretty worn out at that point. We had traveled all day in time to get to MSG at the 15 minute mark of the first half and then the overtime and then hanging with Volvo folks after the game. This was when we got back to the hotel and we were exhausted.
