Jeff Walz, the University of Louisville women’s basketball coach, has apparently landed another good one:

Shooting Guard Just What Doctor Ordered

By Sonjabecky.jpg

Becky Burke, a 5-foot-10 shooting guard from Pennsylvania has been released from her scholarship at South Carolina and will join the Lady Cards this fall. Burke, who was the Class 4A player of the year, averaged 25 points her senior year and is considered a deadly three-point shooting threat by several of the scouting services.

She requested and received the transfer from coach Dawn Staley when coach Susan Walvius, who recruited Burke, resigned from her position at USC. Burke will give the Cards needed depth at a key position. Attaboy, Jeff.  Keep getting the good ones!

Scout.com has this to say about Burke:

Shooter. plain and simple. She knows how much space she needs to get her shot off and has a quick release. Deadly catch and shoot. Decent going off the dribble to her strong hand but didn’t show a lot of change of direction moves.

Oldgoldfreepress, a Purdue recruiting blog, had this:

Nice size and a good handle on the ball. Very crafty at deceiving the defense. Smooth ball reversals and one of the better players at being able to get the defense to bite on what you are doing, then create a little space to hit the shot. Uses her teammates well on the perimeter to screen open for threes.

Lady Cards, they’re gonna be awesome.
