Louisville becoming Miami North.

Jermaine Reve, a talented defensive player, is on his way to University of Louisville to play football, changing his mind about going to Central Florida, according to the Orlando Sentinel:

Miami Northwestern defensive back Jermaine Reve has had a change of heart.Reve was one the first players to commit to UCF for the 2011 recruiting class, pledging to join the Knights in June. The 6-foot, 175-pound athlete is capable of playing safety and linebacker. He told the Orlando Sentinel on Wednesday he has withdrawn his commitment and plans to enroll at Louisville next week.

Louisville coach Charlie Strong, who previously was an elite recruiter at Florida, has targeted the Miami area as one of his prime recruiting areas. Five Miami athletes are on Louisville’s current roster, with another four Miami athletes committed to the Cardinals this year.

  1. Charlie,
On a different subject, would you consider posting something on our new volleyball coach, Anne Kordes? I have met Anne and find her enthusiasm contagious. Hopefully, she can keep the stellar local talent in town and get us to the next level. I believe this will be another great hire and look forward to the games in the years to come. Thanks.

    1. Bill, thanks for asking. I will check in with her and share my impressions. Leonid did a nice job, providing a foundation on which for her to build. Going to miss those Russian names.

      1. any word on those two boys from Ole Miss Charlie? I saw where they said they were leaning our way, also another 4 star recruit that has us that the top of his list is about to make an announcement… Any insider information you can share? 🙂

  2. I also heard we were getting the Ol’ Miss recruits too, any word on that Charlie? according to Scouts.com we already have a top 25 recruiting class! Go Cards!

  3. A fellow who was on The Pipe’s staff and is still close to him told me something right after HCCS was hired. When Florida ranks its target recruits and then decides a certain player is just a little bit too low on their list they are very happy to let Charlie know the player is available and how to recruit him. Why? They don’t want that kid to end up anywhere else in the state (or SEC) where the kid will play against them and come in to the game with a “I’ll show you” attitude. I was also told this applies to a lesser extent to Florida State and Miami.

Add to this Charlie will and can out recruit the Big Three for some other recruits you can see we will become North Florida.
