It does seem like 25 years. So long ago.

The University of Louisville’s 1986 NCAA Championship team will be saluted at the Feb. 12 game against Syracuse in the KFC Yum! Center on this silver anniversary year.  The current team will wear retro uniforms in the game.

A commemorative poster, sponsored by United Graphics, will be provided. Members of the team will be available for autographs in the Woodford Reserve Club from 10:30-11:30 a.m.  Following the game, the team will visit T.G.I. Friday’s restaurant at Fourth Street Live to sign autographs from 3:30-5 p.m.

  1. We were all a lot younger that night in Reunion Arena, Charlie. I remember looking up at the scoreboard with 5:59 to go and Duke leading by six (I think) and turning to the guy next to me in the pep band and saying, “Mark my words — we’re going to win.”
