Bria Smith decision delayed

Bria Smith, the women’s basketball Player of the Year in New York, had planned to announce her college choice on May 10th, with Louisville, Tennessee and Oklahoma holding their breath.

Now she says the announcement will come Thursday.

The 5-foot-10 guard, who averaged 21 points and seven rebounds per game, visited U of L and Tennessee early but added Oklahoma to her list after a surprise visit from OU coach Sherri Cole last week at Christ the King High School.

Smith had originally selected Virginia but changed her mind when head coach Debbie Ryan retired.

She has now announced that she’ll announce at 1 p.m. Wednesday. Louisville or Tennessee.
