Oh, to be a student again at the University of Louisville.

The new 128,000-square-foot Student Recreation Center, which opened last September, swarms with activity from morning to late night. The complex includes a comprehensive exercise and weight facility, eight basketball courts, a multi-activity court for indoor soccer and floor hockey, racquetball courts and aerobic studios.

There’s also a jogging track, fitness lab, classrooms, a gaming area and well lit artificial turf field for recreational use and physical education classes. The center is open from 6:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. most days, with abbreviated hours on weekends.

The $37.5 million center, which is located on Fourth Street, was underwritten by a fee endorsed by nearly 90 percent of students and private funding.
