Three games remaining in the regular season, where has the time gone?

The University of Louisville football program will be solidly back in the bowl picture next week if it can get past Pittsburgh Saturday. Gotta start thinking again about how to fit a bowl trip in between all the holiday activities and birthdays in late December.

Nice problem to have again.

Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, however. This is still a young team with all the unpredictability that goes with youth. UofL wasn’t exactly running over the opposition during those three straight wins.

The challenge for Charlie Strong this week is to pull all those young heads out of the clouds very quickly. After being tossed around in the locker room after the West Virginia win, he’s going to have to get in their faces again.

The celebrating has to be over. Reality time.

Pittsburgh wasn’t impressive against Cincinnati team last weekend against one of the better defensive units in the conference. However, Pitt was only down by three points when the game ended, having fared much better than UofL did against that rugged defense.

Don’t make any travel plans just yet, but be flexible.
