Living On The Brink

The University of Louisville baseball team is back to the brink, the upper edge of a steep, vertical slope.

“They got themselves out most of the time I think, swinging at first pitches going out there trying to be aggressive,” said Cal State’s Daniel Renken, who allowed just three hits and one walk and pitched his third complete game this season.

“That’s our style. That’s what we do,” said Louisville coach Dan McDonnell, who siys Renken is the best pitcher they’ve seen all year. “We’re not here to get his pitch count up. We’re an aggressive club, we swing. Our motto is to hit the fastball. We just didn’t hit it tonight.”

Over the last two weeks, each opposing pitcher is better than the last one the Cards faced .
