One can only hope the situation doesn’t get worse for University of Louisville football before it gets better. That’s not an optimistic outlook; nor is it founded on any basis for encouragement.

  1. Agree with that Linda, but wow what a test!
I hate it so much for the Seniors who’s last
game as a Card went down so bad for all to see. It will be interesting to see what develops in the next few months.

    Go CARDS!

  2. I believe for the majority of the fanbase, the love for our Cardinals and their Cardinal Spirit has never wavered….never will. Go CARDS !

  3. No one wants a loss. No one wants a losing season. But it’s over. Done.

We must remember that these are just boys, teenagers for the most part, who have entrusted their lives into the hands of this athletic department. Think we’re hurting? How about them???

Let’s all just put this disappointment behind us, find some positives, and show how supportive we can be of them in the next nine months. Kragthorpe or not, we love our Cards.

  4. After that embarrassment last night, I have come to the realization that TJ has decided to set his jaw on this – with the pee poor recruiting job this Krag Klown has done, I can’t see any improvement next year. What’s up Tom? It’s almost like a decision has been made to de-emphasize football at U of L. This can’t be happening….why, oh why would TJ let “his” program fall apart when he has done so much good for the U of L??? My ole’ friend Judge Judy says “if something doesn’t make sense, it isn’t true”…..none of this makes sense so I’m hoping and praying that, behind the scene, something positive is going on. Our once beautiful Cardinals were pitiful last night…pitiful.

  5. I really would love to know why TJ is being so stubborn, so resolute. Everyone makes mistakes and he needs to admit after so many great hires he finally has made one. I wonder if the fact that not only were he and K friends before the hire but that the two couples were friends plays into this. I understand that TJ wanted to hire someone with whom he felt comfortable (especially after Petrino lied to his face multiple times) but this hire is pretty close to dipping one’s pen in company ink. And that’s always a bad idea.

  6. Taped the game to watch while I was at the Lady Cards game in Murfreesboro. Not really sure if I want to watch it or not. This is, in my opinion, the worst Cardinal football loss since the 65-5 drubbing Southern Miss put on us in the old Cardinal Statdium in 1987 duringf Howard’s third season. I sat thru that destruction. At least it wasn’t on national television.

  7. As a U of L grad — and now living in ACC country – I HATE to see this result! On a daily basis, I have to hear from people on how great the SEC is in football and how great the ACC is in basketball. So, in the same the week, I have to endure U of L b-ball losing to Western KY and our football team getting totally demolished. Not by any means am I a fair-weathered fan. I have supported the Cards through thick and thin and will continue to do so. I am proud of U of L and proud of Louisville. No question.

I am interested to know what the longer term game plan is for Cardinal football. Will we be a national contender? Will we be a top-10 school? Will we be a BCS caliber team? Could we ever compete with the likes of Florida, Alabama, Oklahoma or Texas? In terms of basketball, can we compete with North Carolina or Duke – given our loss to Western KY? I hope the answers are “Yes!”

I, like many Card fans, are here to give support. Let’s all take a moment to catch our breath, re-group, and get our plans made and put into action. We’re in this together.

  8. Glad to see the folks here at CardGame have finally capitulated. KrapCooper is a horrible coach.

  9. K is reputed to be an honorable man. Perhaps he will realize he needs to do the right thing and quit. He can’t recruit and he can’t coach. With him at the helm I cannot see next year being any better than 4-8 at the very best. OK, maybe 5-7 if UofL can schedule three class AA high school teams. We could upset one of them.
