At some point during the next few games, Russ Smith will become the 65th player to join the 1,000-point club at the University of Louisville. His career contribution now stands at 966 points.

An impressive feat considering the UofL junior scored only 38 points during an injury-riddled freshman season. He has 479 points this season after adding 449 last season.

He’s currently averaging a team-leading 18.4 points per game, hitting 41% of his field goal attempts and 81.9% of his free throws.

At his current pace, he should hit the milestone two games from now. The disappointing part is that the game would be on the road, against DePaul in Chicago  on Feb. 27.
