Happy Presidents Day.

Funny how nobody ever seems to like the current executive in the White House but the holiday was changed to celebrate all of them. Should have left it alone, Abe Lincoln deserved his own day.

This holiday is special in one way, however, creating a nationally-televised event with second-ranked Notre Dame for the University of Louisville women’s basketball team. Game time is 2 p.m. on ESPN.

Another opportunity to see Skylar Diggins in action, a phenomenal athlete who looks good whether she’s winning or losing. Skylar’s only a junior, even though she’s been around for six or seven seasons. The Lady Cards must defend against the (Natalie) Novosel virus as well.

A couple of seasons ago the Notre Dame women went home sick with food poisoning after dining at a local restaurant. Hopefully, the KFC Yum! fare isn’t any better this time around.

  1. The key for any Cardinal win today is to shut down Diggins’ surrounding cast. WVU set the bluprint for this last week.

And, rebound, hit threes, block out, limit turnovers, score in transition, get second chance points, hit layups and get an act of God.

Just hoping this one doesn’t get embarrasing.

And, George Washington still deserves his day, too. To clump these guys in with Clinton, Obama, Herbert Hoover and Grover Cleveland is demeaning.
