[stextbox id=”custom”] Polly Harrington, an athletic 6-footer from Kansas City, Kansas has committed to play for the University of Louisville women’s basketball team. Harrington is the fourth verbal commitment to Louisville from the 2010 class. She joins Charmaine Tay, Antonita Slaughter and Sheronne Vails.

Here’s what ESPN says about her:

“Her natural feel for the game and her strength have her playing with the effectiveness of a 6-2 player. She is aggressive and physical and does a good job of delivering contact to the defense so they can’t get off the ground to bother her shot. Almost any taller defender will have trouble keeping her from facing up and going around them…”

A mystery is whether a reported verbal from Lauren Okafor, a 6-foot-3 player from New Haven, Connecticut, still stands. It was reported in her local newspaper but she is never included in any listing of Lady Card commits.[/stextbox]

  1. Okafor was here over the weekend. Seemed to enjoy her visit. Rumor is that another Big East school, considerably closer to New Haven, CT. is making a late all out blitz to get her to change her verbal.

    1. Actually, she never made an official visit to “The Ville”. The other Big East School you made mention of IS much closer to New Haven. They also have been watching her (attending high school games as well as AAU)for the past TWO years. So they have been on the scene for some time now and have been able to witness her growth.
