Pick The Soap Opera Winner

By Sonja Sykes

Should be more than enough suspense and drama surrounding Louisville football to again pack Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium.

  • All the supposition has transformed this Saturday’s game against Southern Mississippi  into one of the season’s more fascinating events. Some believe this may be Steve Kragthorpe’s last game. Others are pretty certain he’s here till the season ends. Very few expect him back next year.
  • As usual going into a Kragthorpe-coached game, there are big unknowns. Who will quarterback, for example. Justin Burke or Adam Froman? How many of the players will be inexplicably missing. Will freshman red shirts be burned prematurely? Will the players be pumped knowing their coach is under extreme fire?

Since I am a 4-0 in Louisville football predictions this season, I’m making the pick this week. I think the Cards win 28-27 in a wild and woolley game in which the last team with the ball wins. Paul, my other half, the one with a measly 2-2 record, is also going with Louisville, optimistically, 31-14.

Will the Cards will show up? Pick the winner.

Damage control by SID, primarily for players IMO

And congrats to Sonja. Her 28-27 Cardinal forecast was closest. She is a dominating 5-0 this season in picks and the beauty of it all is that she couldn’t care less.
