Bria Smith gets the ball slapped away by Notre Dame’s Brittany Mallory during the University of Louisville women’s 68-52 loss Monday at the KFC Yum! Center. The Lady Cards were hitting only 31 percent of their shots while the Irish were connecting on 48.9 percent of theirs. Not a good day for Bria, with her seven turnovers.

Success beyond the three-point line was almost non-existent, with UofL managing only two of 16 attempts. Louisville never led, dropping its sixth conference game against eight wins. Skylar Diggins led all scorers with 21 points. Antonita Slaughter had 12 for UofL. Attendance was 13,054. (Click on photo to enlarge.)

An interested spectator courtside was Denny Crum, the former UofL men’s coach and member of the Naismith Hall of Fame.
