One of those days.

Sneak out of bed, trying not to wake Barbara. Wake the dog.

The phone rings, it’s the yard man, wanting to do the leaves. Ask him to wait an hour or so so wife can sleep.

The front door bell rings, it’s LG&E wanting to change the gas meter. Take him to the basement to shut off the furnace, he sees all the U of L stuff in the man cave, getting all excited about the 1980 and 1986 photos and tickets, all the other University of Louisville paraphernalia. Shh! My wife’s asleep (hopefully).

While he’s changing the gas meter, walk the dog. LG&E finishes up, rings the door again, says it’s all done, and proclaims, “Go Cards!”

Wife at the top of the step, “Go Cards?” She’s up to stay.

Call the yard man back, tell him he may as well come on.

Check the web for reports on Missouri movement. No movement, more contradictory speculation. West By God Virginia seems to have the inside track on the Big 12? Rumors, sources, more Missouri inertia.

Can we start over?
