Spring is in the air and footballs will soon be flying.

The University of Louisville football team begins spring camp Wednesday at the practice field adjacent to Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium. The first three practice sessions will be open to the public.

  • Wednesday — 4 p.m.
  • Friday — 4 p.m.
  • Saturday — 10 a.m.

No separate practices for newcomers this season because all but three of next season’s players — Keith Brown, James Burgess and Ryan Hubble — have been enrolled since January.

U of L returns 47 letterwinners from last season’s team that went 7-6 and won a share of the Big East title.

Meanwhile, somewhere someone continues to juggle the 2012 football schedule to include Temple replacing West Virginia. Hopefully done before the spring game in mid-April.
