Jude-Schimmel

Among the missing on the University of Louisville women’s basketball team the past five games has been Jude Schimmel. She has been recovering from an ankle injury sustained in a 77-68 win over Temple on New Year’s Day.

Her speed and abandon on offense makes her a special player. She was averaging 24 minutes of playing time per game, contributing 6.8 points and 4.3 assists, prior to the injury.  She also brings a high level of enthusiasm and a contagious smile that lights up the basketball court.

Here’s hoping she’s back in action Sunday when the women take on Memphis at 1 p.m. at the KFC Yum! Center.

  1. We sat down and talked with Coach Walz Friday and played the interview on our weekly radio show at http://www.cardinalcouple.com

Walz indicated Jude would play. She practiced Thursday and was going to talk with Walz, tell him how she felt and would probably practice Friday.
