With the Super Bowl in the books, football fans must survive a long dry spell between games.

Now it’s officially wait-till-next-year time, with the diehards holding their breath for National Signing Day on Wednesday, hoping the incoming class will fill the gaps between expectations and disappointment.

Not surprisingly, University of Louisville football fans are still in celebration mode, giddy over a thoroughly convincing win over Florida in the BCS Sugar Bowl. So Wednesday represents still another opportunity to party, with Charlie Strong bringing in a class of 15 recruits that includes Trinity running back James Quick, Lexington Catholic quarterback Kyle Bolin and seven more Florida players.

The beer will be flowing freely at three local establishments for UofL fans in St. Matthews for National Signing Day parties. All the events will include video highlights and assessments of incoming recruits. They are hosted by three local Internet sites, followed by game-watching parties for the UofL-Rutgers basketball game:

  • Rivals/Cardinal Sports — Saints Pizza & Sky Bar, St. Matthews, 131 Breckenridge Lane, 6 p.m. This event has included the appearance of some top incoming recruits in recent years.
  • Scout/Cardinal Authority — Buffalo Wild Wings, St. Matthews, 4600 Shelbyville Road, 6:30 p.m.
  • Louisville 247Sports — Molly Malones, St. Matthews, 3900 Shelbyville Road, 6 p.m.
