Damion Copeland was an unknown quantity coming into this season but he quickly became indispensable, starting with a shoestring grab in the opening game against Kentucky. He was always there, making the clutch catches.Damian-Copeland.Louisville

Louisville’s 33-23 win over Florida would not have been complete without another Teddy Bridgewater  to Copeland hookup.

Copeland, a red shirt junior from Bradenton, Fla., was Bridgewater’s favorite targets during an extraordinary season. While he scored only two touchdowns, Damion set up numerous scoring opportunities during an 11-2 season.

He was, in fact, the team’s leading receiver, making a total of 50 receptions for 628 yards. One of his favorites will always be the first play eight seconds into the second half of the Sugar Bowl, pulling down a 19-yarder in the end zone, putting UofL 30-10.

“We had talked about it at halftime,” he said. “I knew it was six points as soon as they called the play.”

Here’s the view of the play from Section 615 of the Mercede Benz Superdome.
