Card March

Card March rapidly became a pre-game phenomenon after being introduced in 2003 during Coach Bobby Petrino’s helm at the University of Louisville. Hundreds of UofL fans congregate in and around the tunnel leading to Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium two hours and fifteen minutes before each home game.

The Cards arrive by bus via the Denny Crum Overpass on Central Avenue just above the tunnel, descending the 33 steps to the hoopla of the cheering fans and U of L Marching Band on the way to the stadium and the Howard Schnellenger Football Complex. Too young to yet be considered a tradition, but Card March is well on its way.
