He’s got the look and the bulk that make running backs change direction.

Now that Charlie Strong has taken care of some pressing priorities, he and Clint Hurtt have gotten back to recruiting future University of Louisville football greats.

Kyle Shortridge, a 6-foot-2, 275-pound defensive tackle from Loxahatchee, Fla., apparently impressed with the coaching staff, the facilities and the campus.

So impressed that Shortridge made a commitment Monday to play at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium the next four years. He had been offered scholarships by a long list of schools that included, among others, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Purdue, Michigan State, West Virginia and Minnesota.

“I liked the atmosphere and how the team works together and all the players,” he told Rivals.com. “I liked the town a lot and the way the practices run.”
