Just under a year ago the observer attended a Cardinal Caravan at the Shelby County Fairgrounds. While there, he sat down at a table across from Larry Perdue, a long-time University of Louisville fan. One thing led to another while discussing Cardinal athletics.

Turned out that Larry was dating Julie Tobbe who had lived next door to us for several years. In fact, we were there when their parents brought Julie and her twin brother Joe home from the hospital. Her dad, Tony, a staunch UK fan, once used fertilizer to burn his school’s initials into our front lawn.

Larry and Julie got married Saturday night. Larry is a self-taught computer analyst, who troubleshoots for a technology company,  Julie is a Bellarmine grad and a school principal, as organized and nice as she is pretty.

One of them mentioned possibly tying the knot in October at one point. “That was a non-starter, wouldn’t have worked,” said Larry, a season ticket holder for UofL football games for several years, basketball as well.

We wish them all the best.
