The end is near, with the silos on land recently acquired by the University of Louisville starting to come down on Monday.
Specialized equipment will arrive in town by Friday, getting into position over the weekend for the demolition project. It’s probably going to take a week or two because there are 22 of those concrete monsters.
Spectators will not be allowed on the 15-acre site, but should be able to see the work from Floyd Street.
And the transformation of Belknap Campus continues.
And just think of the Silos as a transition. They obscured UL for years but you always knew they were not “evil”. Just part of the process of becoming a Major University.

I drove by there today and the guard told me they start Wednesday on the silos. Besides the silos, there’s still several structures on the site.
UofL should paint one old conference logo on each silo and then as soon as they’re down pull a curtain off of a giant ACC banner on the side of PJCS.
