Dan McDonnell is a GREAT coach. I don’t just mean on the field. I talked with Dan after the game Friday night, and covered the whole series for the site.
Dan had another kid from New Albany, that still had his uniform on from New Albany, and was out of breath telling Coach Mac, “I got here as soon as I could”…..
I smirked at Dan and said, “New Albany Pipeline”, due to Drew Haynes now, and Daniel Burton from our 2007 CWS team are from NA. Coach Mac just smiles.
I asked him if sweeping USF would cinch a regional at JPS for us, and Coach Mac replied, “I don’t know. We have to play well in Clearwater”.
But just coming from the BBallAmerica and ESPN/Coaches’ Poll, as in every sport, we rarely get love. #23 last week, we sweep USF 3 games, and move up to #20 on BBAM, and just receiving votes on ESPN/Coaches'(#26)……..
