From a story in the Frankfort State-Journal:
Prior to Thursday’s game Pitino presented Davenport with a gift, a pair of ostrich Gucci shoes.
“I wanted to get him something he wouldn’t buy himself, something he wouldn’t even think of buying,” Pitino said.
When asked about the gift, Davenport pulled off his left shoe and held it up for the media to see. The shoe had a hole in the sole.
“How did he know?” Davenport asked.
